Oklahoma Investment Banking Vet Chris Cochran Joins BOSC

DALLAS — Oklahoma investment banking veteran Chris Cochran has been named senior vice president and managing director for public finance at BOSC Inc., the broker-dealer subsidiary of BOK Financial Corp.

Cochran will be in charge of Oklahoma municipal finance. BOSC is the leading underwriter of municipal bonds in the state, with $487 million over 55 issues in 2009, according to Thomson Reuters.

Cochran assumed his duties at BOSC in late April after 13 years with Geary Securities, formerly known as Capital West Securities. He began his career in 1990 with Stifel Nicolaus & Co. “I feel fortunate to have all the resources that are available to me in this company,” he said.

BOSC president and chief executive officer Scott Grauer said Cochran’s background will be put to use as the firm seeks to grow its investment banking business throughout the region.

“His dedication to his current clients and ability to reach new customers will serve us well as we expand our division and capabilities,” Grauer said. “With Chris on board, BOSC now has the most experienced investment banking team in Oklahoma.”

Cochran said he anticipates significant debt refunding and restructuring in Oklahoma over the next 12 months.

In his 20-year career, Cochran has been involved in more than $5 billion of state and local financing efforts in Oklahoma. His public finance experience includes bond issues for school districts, hospitals, local and state governments, colleges and universities, and public power agencies.
