Taylor Promoted to Head of Barclays Public Finance

Rob Taylor was promoted to become head of public finance at Barclays Capital, sources at the bank confirmed Wednesday.

In his new role Taylor will report to Eric Felder, head of credit trading. He will be working alongside Steve Milano, head of the municipal syndicate desk, and Peter Coleman, head of municipal trading.

Taylor's position is a new one at Barclays and at press time it was unclear how the promotion affects Jerry Rizzieri, a managing director and head of municipal finance.

Barclays declined to comment as to whether Rizzieri had left the firm.

Taylor has been involved in the muni market for close to 25 years. He spent 16 years at Lehman Brothers before the bank collapsed in September 2008, at which time Barclays entered the municipal market by acquiring Lehman's 160-person national muni bond group as part of its purchase of most of Lehman's broker-dealer assets.

From 1987 to 1992, Taylor was a second vice president at Smith Barney.

Barclays senior managed 193 issues worth $26.9 billion last year, ranking them the sixth largest underwriter with a 6.6% market share, according to Thomson Reuters.
