New York City business activity declined in April, dropping to levels not seen since Sept. 11, 2001, according to the National Association of Purchasing Management-New York’s Report on Business.
The current business conditions index slumped to 28.3 in April from an upwardly revised 43.9 in March. The report’s six-month outlook index dropped to 51.2 from a downwardly revised 63.8. The NY-BCI dropped to 356.0 from 366.9.
