Personal Income Off 0.3%; Core PCE Declines 0.2%

The U.S. March personal income report was unremarkable in its continuation of the recent trends of lower wages and rising savings, but it offered explanations why consumption was higher than expected in the first quarter.

March personal income fell 0.3%, personal consumption expenditures declined 0.2%, and core PCE prices rose 0.2%.
