Merrill’s Joanne Feld to Join S&Y

Public finance veteran Joanne Feld will join Stone & Youngberg LLC’s New York City office as a vice president, the firm announced earlier this week.

Feld joins Stone & Youngberg with more than 14 years of public finance experience. She worked the last eight years as a director at Merrill Lynch & Co., and previously served as an assistant treasurer for the New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority.

Feld has a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Toronto and a master’s in public administration from Columbia University.

Working out the New York office, Feld will service clients in the Northeast region.

“Joanne brings a wealth of expertise and local market knowledge that will be invaluable to our team as we continue to build out our business in the Northeast,” managing director and head of public finance Steve Heaney said in a statement. “As we grow our nationwide public finance presence we are pleased to once again attract the industry’s top talent.”

Stone & Youngberg ranked 15th as an underwriter nationally last year, according to Thomson Reuters. It served as a senior manager on 112 issues with a par value of $2.97 billion in 2008.
