FGIC's Fried Joins Greenberg to Focus on Project Finance

Greenberg Traurig LLP announced earlier this week that Jeffrey Fried, formerly head of public finance at Financial Guaranty Insurance Co., has joined the firm as a shareholder in its corporate and securities group, where he will focus on advising clients in project finance.

Fried, who has more than 20 years of public finance experience, previously practiced at Greenberg Traurig as an associate in New York and Miami from 1991 to 1996. He has also worked for Ambac Assurance Corp. and Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP.

"We believe his wealth of experience in the project finance and public-private partnership arenas will both strengthen the services we offer to our clients and help grow our practice to new levels," regional operating shareholder Michael L. Lehr said in a statement. "In addition, his ability to undertake engagements in more traditional municipal finance transactions will be additive to our core business."

Fried has a bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Albany and a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law.

"We are excited about adding someone with Jeff's legal skills and business savvy to Greenberg Traurig at this opportune time, when we expect significant business focus to be placed on so-called public-private partnerships, where he is an expert who will add significant talent to our already extensive national and local project finance capabilities," Greenberg Traurig president Richard A. Rosenbaum said in a statement.
