2009 FOMC Meetings Now All Two Days Each

The Federal Open Market Committee Friday announced it would expand its March, August, September, and December meetings in 2009 to two days to allow additional time for discussion.

The previously planned one-day meetings will begin on the Tuesday dates the meetings were originally planned for, and continue on Wednesdays, culminating with committee’s statement around 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesdays.

The new meeting schedule will push back the release of the minutes by a day, three weeks after the meetings.
