Record School Vote Looms

The Tulsa County Independent School District No. 1 may ask voters next year to approve the largest school bond package in Oklahoma’s history, with a potential $354 million request.

Superintendent Keith Ballard said he will present his final recommendation to trustees this week.

The board could vote Dec. 17 to set an election for March 2.

Ballard said his proposed project list will be based on a report from a citizens bond development committee.

The district’s general obligation bonds have underlying ratings of AA from Standard & Poor’s and Aa3 from Moody’s Investors Service.
