Culture Worker Grants

Philadelphia will offer $500,000 of grants to nonprofit and for profit creative businesses for capital projects that create jobs in the arts and culture industry.

Examples of authorized projects include renovations of office space, mixed-use facilities, artist workspace, and creative industry incubators, according to Mayor Michael Nutter’s office.

The $500,000 of designated funds comes from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

The goal is to support and nurture job growth in Philadelphia’s creative industry. The initiative is a joint venture between the city’s Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy and the city’s Department of Commerce.

Projects must be able to start within three months from the award date.
