George K. Baum Adds Amelia Bond in St. Louis

CHICAGO — Kansas City, Mo.-based George K. Baum & Co. Friday announced its expansion into St. Louis with the hiring of prominent municipal banker Amelia A.J. Bond, who led the former A.G. Edwards & Sons/Wachovia Securities public finance banking group.

“We’re thrilled to have such an accomplished professional with a great national reputation join our team,” chief executive officer Jonathan E. Baum said in a statement.

Bond joined the firm earlier this week as an executive vice president. She most recently served as a managing director and head of public finance at Wachovia Securities, which was acquired by Wells Fargo this year.

Prior to Wachovia’s acquisition of A.G. Edwards in 2007, Bond had served for seven years as a senior vice president and director of public finance at A.G. Edwards.

Bond served a three-year term from 2003 to 2006 on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and served as its chairman during the 2005-2006 term.
