Treasury Strips Down $2.6 Billion in August

Newly issued Treasury securities held in stripped form decreased about $2.6 billion in August to a total of $174.585 billion, the Bureau of the Public Debt reported Friday.

The STRIPS program allows investors to hold and trade the individual interest and principal components of eligible Treasury notes and bonds as separate securities.
