Existing home sales increased 6.5% in December to a seasonally adjusted 4.74 million-unit rate, the National Association of Realtors announced yesterday.
The sales gain to 4.74 million contrasted with a drop to a 4.40 million-unit pace predicted by Thomson Reuters’ poll of economists and followed a revised 9.4% drop to a 4.45 million unit level in November, originally reported as an 8.6% slide to 4.49 million units.
