Wasmer Schroeder Brings In New Managing Director in Philadelphia

BRADENTON, Fla. - Naples, Fla.-based Wasmer, Schroeder & Co. has hired a new managing director and fixed-income strategist to run the firm's new office in Philadelphia.

Ralph 'Chip' Norton joined Wasmer Jan. 1. His responsibilities include product development, asset allocation, investment strategies, and portfolio analysis. He is also a member of the firm's investment and credit committees.

"The firm is excited about the addition of Mr. Norton," said Wasmer Schroeder chief executive officer Martin Wasmer in a statement. "Chip brings 28 years of investment experience to the firm."

Prior to joining Wasmer, Norton was managing director of fixed income and economic analysis for Fortigent LLC. He also previously worked for Fidelity Investments, as as a member of the investment policy committee at Standard & Poor's, and was chief investment officer of fixed income with ING Mutual Funds.

In addition to writing a book, "Investing for Income," in 1999, Norton has published numerous articles on investing. He also is a frequent speaker on radio and television programs as well as at national high-net-worth and bond conferences.

Norton received his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Vermont and he holds NASD licenses Series 6, 63, and 7.

Wasmer Schroeder specializes in fixed-income portfolio management for high-net-worth families, institutions, and wealth managers. The firm, which has more than $2.4 billion in assets under management, also has an office in Cleveland.
