The Treasury Department auctions $32 billion of 91-day bills and $31 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated July 30 and due Oct. 29, and the 182-day bills are dated July 30, and due Jan. 28, 2010. Currently, there are $28 billion 91-day bills outstanding but no 182-day bills outstanding.

New home sales figures for June are released by the Commerce Department.

Tuesday, July 28

Consumer confidence figures for July are released by the Conference Board.

The Treasury auctions $27 billion of one-year bills. The 52-week bills are dated July 30 and due July 29, 2010.

The Treasury auctions $42 billion of two-year notes. The two-year notes are dated July 31 and due July 31, 2011.

Wednesday, July 29

Durable goods figures for June are released by the Commerce Department.

The Beige Book, a summary of economic commentary complied by the 12 Fed banks, is released by the Federal Reserve Board.

The Treasury auctions $39 billion of five-year notes. The notes are dated July 31 and are due July 31, 2014.

Thursday, July 30

Initial jobless claims for the week ending July 25 are released by the Labor Department.

The Treasury auctions $28 billion of seven-year notes on Thursday, July 30. The notes are dated July 31 and are due July 31, 2016.

Friday, July 31

Advance gross domestic product figures for the second quarter are released by the Commerce Department.

The employment cost index for the second quarter is released by the Labor Department.
