The University of Michigan’s final June consumer sentiment index reading was 70.8, compared to the June 69.0 preliminary, the final May 68.7 figure, and April’s 65.1 number, according to market sources.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 69.0 reading for the index.
The expectations index final was 69.2, compared to 65.4 preliminary, 69.4 in May, and 63.1 in April.
The current conditions index final was 73.2, compared to 74.5 preliminary, 67.7 in May, 68.3 in April.

The five-year inflation expectation index final was 3.0% in June, compared to 3.1% preliminary, and 2.9% in May, and the one-year inflation expectation index final was 3.1% in June, compared to 2.8% in May, and 2.8% in April.
