Former Analyst Van Praagh Returns to Moody's

Moody's Investors Service has hired former analyst Anne Van Praagh as group credit officer for U.S. public finance, the company announced yesterday.

Van Praagh rejoins Moody's after three years as a vice president in the public sector banking division of Morgan Stanley, where she focused on transportation. Van Praagh worked in Moody's public finance group from 1998 to 2006.

Van Praagh will report to Bart Oosterveld, chief credit officer for global public, project and infrastructure finance.

She replaces Naomi Richman, who moved over to become a team leader within Moody's sovereign ratings group, according to Gail Sussman, group managing director of Moody's U.S. public finance group. Each line of business within Moody's has a credit officer.

Van Praagh will "promote ratings quality and consistency across public finance," Sussman said.

She will also chair Moody's public finance franchise committee and serve on the U.S. public finance liquidity task force.

Van Praagh has an undergraduate degree from George Washington University and a master's degree from Columbia University's School of Public and International Affairs.
