The Indiana University Board of Trustees has approved roughly $200 million in new construction projects at the school’s Bloomington campus, including an $80 million housing and classroom building that is expected to be financed through the sale of revenue bonds.
Most of the six new projects will be financed through a mix of gifts, grants, university funding, and some state aid. In addition to the $80 million in revenue bonds for construction of an 850-bed housing project and additional classroom space, another $9 million of debt is expected to be sold to finance a library storage space building.
The projects include a new international studies building, a new music school studio building, partial renovation of the university theater building, as well as the new dormitory and library storage buildings. Trustees also approved initial site plans for a $10 million business incubator building, which will house start-up businesses.
Already underway at the campus is a $52 million multidisciplinary science building, a $30 million data center, a $55 million project at Memorial Stadium, and other projects.
