Orlando Swearing-In Set

Incumbent Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and two city commissioners will be sworn into office for four-year terms in ceremonies planned for May 1.

Dyer is widely recognized in central Florida for his efforts spearheading a complex $1.1 billion finance plan to concurrently build a new events arena and a new performing arts center, as well as to make improvements to an existing stadium.

The venues will be largely financed with bonds.

Dyer was reelected to office during Florida’s presidential preference primary on Jan. 29. He received 60% of the vote over his challenger, Ken Mulvaney.
