Spring Hill Filling Up

Spring Hill Independent School District will build a new high school in the district near Longview if voters approve a $41.8 million bond package on May 10.

District officials said the existing school is near its capacity. The proposed new $30 million high school would solve the overcrowding problem.

New classrooms and other renovations will also be included in the first phase of bond projects. The second phase will provide new roofs to existing buildings, and improvement to athletic facilities.

If the proposal passes, the bonds would be issued in several tranches. The district plans an initial sale of $33 million followed by several issues totaling $8.8 million.
