Nutter Names Board Members

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter last week announced his appointments to the board of the Philadelphia Facilities Management Corp., a nonprofit that operates and manages the Philadelphia Gas Works under a contract with the city.

 

Nutter asked David Seltzer to serve as chairman of the board, replacing David Hyman, who has led the board for the past eight years. Nutter appointed Gerald Davis, Maryam Mahdavi, Sharmain Matlock-Turner, Pedro Rivera, Seth Shapiro, and Hal Sorgenti to the board.

 

“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to David Hyman for his great service to the board over the years. During his tenure as chairman, PGW experienced a period of successful reorganization and stabilization,” Nutter said. “PGW is well poised to be a national leader in the new energy market and I look forward to great expertise and leadership that these seven individuals will bring to the board.”

 

PGW provides gas serve to 500,000 residential customers and 19,000 industrial and commercial users in Philadelphia . PGW is the largest municipally-owned gas utility in the nation.

 

Philadelphia issued $245.4 million of Gas Works revenues bonds during 2007.
