The Pulaski County Quorum Court approved an operating budget for 2009 that projects $55.3 million in spending and revenues of $54.8 million.
The county will balance its budget with some of its $6.8 million operating reserves, which is about $400,000 more than originally expected due to strong property tax collections.
The $6.2 million of reserves is slightly more than what is required by Arkansas law. Counties must not appropriate 10% of their total projected annual revenue. The county expects revenues of $61.5 million in 2009.
