About 65% of Cobb County voters who went to the polls last week approved the sale of $40 million of general obligation bonds to buy land for parks and green space.

It was their second such authorization since more than 70% of voters approved $40 million of GOs bonds for parks in a 2006 referendum. Since the first referendum, the county has purchased nearly 400 acres of parkland.
