Philadelphia-based Janney Montgomery Scott LLC has hired municipal market veteran Kevin Lynch as a municipal credit analyst, it announced earlier this week.
Lynch will provide research to the firm's financial consultants and institutional and retail clients, and publish periodic relative-value commentaries and municipal market research notes.
Lynch has nearly 20 years of experience through positions at Standard & Poor's, MBIA Inc., and Bank One, where he helped establish the public finance research department.
Lynch earned a bachelor's degree in public administration and finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a master's degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
"Kevin brings a tremendous amount of insight and experience to Janney," director of fixed income Alan Schankel said in a statement. "Adding the research component to our work in the municipal credit market space will be of great benefit and added value to our traders, financial consultants, and to our clients when they are making decisions about fixed income in their portfolios. It will continue to position our capital markets group as an industry leader."
