Chamber Backs Street Bonds

The economic development arm of the Tulsa Metro Chamber is the largest contributor to the chamber’s campaign committee supporting approval of Tulsa’s proposed $415.6 million, five-year street package at today’s election.

There is no state limit on the amount of contributions to issue campaigns.

Citizens for Tulsa Streets, which was formed by the Tulsa Metro Chamber in September, raised $568,000 between Sept. 19 and Oct. 20, and spent $475,815. The information is contained in reports filed with the city clerk’s office on Oct. 27.

The single largest contributor was Tulsa’s Future, the chamber’s economic development group, with $188,000.
