Jackson Securities Pegs Knights for Public Finance Post

BRADENTON, Fla. - Atlanta-based Jackson Securities LLC has hired Jacqueline B. Knights as managing director in its public finance group, where she will focus on clients in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic states.

Knights is part of Jackson Securities' expansion efforts and is based in Stamford, Conn., according to Bruce Gow, chief product officer and managing director of public finance.

"We are delighted to have Jacqueline on our team," Gow said. "She brings a high level of banking expertise which will dramatically raise our market activity and profile. Jacqueline's hiring fits in well with our ongoing plan to strategically expand our public finance presence."

With more than 16 years of investment banking experience, Knights has been lead manager on more than $14 billion of financings for municipal issuers nationally. She was formerly with Bear, Stearns & Co., which was purchased by JPMorgan in May. Her areas of focus include general infrastructure, transportation, and pension funding. She most recently served as lead banker for Connecticut's $2.2 billion of Teachers' Retirement Fund bonds, which closed in April.

Knights has been a speaker at industry conferences on funding pensions and other post-employment benefits. She has served as adjunct professor of finance at New York University and taught fundamentals of investment banking between 2001 and 2004. She received her bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her MBA from Columbia Business School. She is a chartered financial analyst and holds Series 7, 63, and 53 securities industry licenses.
