Orange County supervisors will vote Tuesday to send out requests for proposals to underwriters for upcoming bond issues for John Wayne Airport.
Citing changes that have seen some investment banking firms merge or disappear, the supervisors are also asking for two new firms to join the list of qualified underwriters approved in 2006.
“The addition of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and De La Rosa & Co. is based on their respective experience in airport financings in California since January 2007,” said a staff report prepared by Tom Beckett, the county’s public finance manager.
The airport has embarked on a $652 million capital improvement project. The county has already selected Sidley Austin LLP as bond counsel and disclosure counsel, and Frasca & Associates, LLC as financial adviser.
