Monday, October 6
The Treasury will auction $26 billion of 91-day bills and $27 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated Oct. 9 and due Jan. 8, 2009, and the 182-day bills are dated Oct. 9 and due April 9, 2009. The Treasury will also auction $30 billion of 72-day bills. The bills are dated Oct. 7 and are due Dec. 18.

Tuesday, October 7
Consumer credit figures for August are released by the Treasury Department.
The Federal Open Market Committee releases minutes from its Sept. 16 meeting.

Wednesday, October 8
Pending home sales figures August are released by the National Association of Realtors.

Thursday, October 9
Initial jobless claims for the week ending Oct. 4 are released by the Labor Department.

Wholesale trade figures for August are released by the Commerce Department.

Friday, October 10
International trade figures for August are released by the Commerce Department.
Import and export price figures for September are released by the Labor Department.
The federal budget deficit or surplus for fiscal year 2008 is released by the Treasury Department.
