Hiscock & Barclay Opens New York Office

Hiscock & Barclay LLP announced earlier this week that it has opened a New York City office in Times Square.

The new location will better help it serve its public finance clients throughout the state, attorneys from the firm said. It previously had a small office in lower Manhattan.

"We've serviced our downstate clients primarily through our upstate presence in the past, and we're moving now toward having a great presence here in the city," said Justin Driscoll, a partner who joined the firm last year after serving as general counsel for the New York State Housing Finance Agency and State of New York Mortgage Agency.

"We think this is good for clients, and we think this is good for building the practice for the firm," he said.

Driscoll said the firm would use the new office as a platform for expanding its public finance and other practice groups. The New York City Industrial Development Agency in July approved the firm as one of four allowed to do bond counsel and other legal work for the agency.
