Holland & Knight Tap Two From Nixon Peabody for San Fran Office

SAN FRANCISCO - Holland & Knight LLP announced this week that it has added two public finance attorneys from Nixon Peabody LLP to its San Francisco office.

Edsell M. "Chip" Eady, Jr. joins Holland & Knight as a partner, bringing more than 30 years of experience in public and project finance, as both a lawyer and investment banker.

He has worked with some of the largest global financial institutions and health insurers on new capital market structures and strategies engineered specifically to deal with so-called other post-employment benefits, according to Holland & Knight.

Other credits on his resume include financing of green energy projects, public infrastructure, and what is described as the first tax-exempt financing of a governmentally owned convention center hotel in Chicago.

Eady joined Nixon Peabody in 2003 from Foley & Lardner LLP.

Henry C. Har comes aboard as an associate with experience as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter's counsel in a broad range of tax-exempt financings.

The two men join Holland & Knight's financial services practice group.

"Chip and Henry bring considerable experience in the public finance area and will be valuable resources in strengthening our West Coast presence to better serve our clients," group chair Richard B. Stephens Jr. said in a statement. "Chip has specific experience with post-employment benefits that will integrate well with our current capabilities in that area."

Holland & Knight was the 52nd-ranked bond counsel firm by volume nationally in 2007, according to Thomson Reuters data. It ranked 18th in California.
