Treasury: U.S. Gov’t Ran $102.8B Deficit in July

The federal government posted a $102.8 billion deficit in July, according to Treasury Department figures released yesterday.

The July deficit followed an unrevised June surplus of $50.7 billion.

IFR Markets predicted a $97.0 billion deficit for the month.

The government took in $160.493 billion, while spending $263.260 billion.
