MDOT Slates P3 Workshop

The Mississippi Department of Transportation on Tuesday is holding a mandatory workshop in Jackson for all firms and consortiums interested in submitting qualifications to enter into the state’s first public-private partnership.

MDOT is seeking a concessionaire to build a new 12-mile toll road called the Airport Parkway, which primarily will create a direct connection between downtown Jackson and Jackson-Evers International Airport. The road is estimated to cost $500 million.

At least one representative from a team interested in responding to the state’s request for qualifications must attend the workshop. The RFQ was released June 2 and the deadline for responses is Aug. 1. More details on the project can be found at www.theairportparkway.com.
