Cook County, Ill., Board’s Debate Over $3.2B Budget Rages On

CHICAGO – The budget debate is expected to heat up this week as the Cook County, Ill., board faces an unofficial Nov. 30 deadline to vote on President Todd Stroger’s $3.2 billion 2008 budget, which is balanced largely with a controversial 2% sales tax increase.
